The Stagg BJW-OPEN 5 is a 5-string banjo with a striking matte black finish and a black REMO head. It features tuners with pearloid tuner heads, as well as a nickel-plated brass armrest and tailpiece. The open construction of this instrument offers a relatively mild sound and a comfortable weight. Playing the BJW-OPEN 5

From low to high, the four wound strings are tuned in the standard D, G, B, D. The shorter fifth string, whose tuner is placed at the fifth fret, is tuned in G and ensures the characteristic drone sound that sings through in every chord.
